Didbox Driver Identification & Immobiliser system

Didbox is Europe's leading driver identification and access control system for fleet vehicles and plant.

7reasons why Didbox will help you keep control of your fleet:

  1. Limits equipment access to approved drivers only
  2. Records and measures equipment usage, by operator, date and time
  3. No expensive software or license
  4. Integrates easily with simple spreadsheets
  5. Low setup and running costs
  6. Safeguards your Health & Safety record
  7. Saves you money!

How it works

How is the system installed?

The Didbox is fitted out of sight somewhere under the vehicle's dashboard with the key reader head mounted near the start or ignition switch.

What information do I need?

You need to organise your vehicle fleet into categories, either by type, area or whatever else suits you best. The next step is to create a list of your operators, assign a unique ID number to each and record the categories of vehicle that they are authorised to drive.

How do I set up the vehicles?

Once you have decided on a category for each vehicle, you program each category into the red keyfob using the PC-based wand reader and software. The keyfob then simply needs to be touched to the reader on the vehicle to set the category.

How do I set up the operators?

Using your list of operators and the reader/software, program a keyfob for each operator by ticking the categories they are authorised to drive, entering their ID number and simply holding a blank keyfob onto the reader. Distribute the keyfobs to the operators. At this point the system is up and running.

How do my operators use the system?

When the vehicle is switched on, a red light appears on the Didbox reader. At this point the vehicle cannot be started. When an operator touches an authorised keyfob to the reader, the light goes green and the engine can be started. The system records the time and date against the operator's unique ID number.

When the operator switches the vehicles ignition off, the system resets ready for the next operator. It also again records the time and date that the operator has finished using the vehicle.

How do I download the collected data from the vehicles?

Simply hold the blue keyfob to the reader on the vehicle. The light will flash briefly to show that the data is being downloaded. take the keyfob back to the PC and hold it to the wand reader to upload the data to your computer in the form of a convenient spreadsheet. You can specify the amount of data you want to download, to a maximum of over 1000 events.

What does the spreadsheet tell me?

The spreadsheet shows each time a driver has started a vehilce and each time they have stopped the vehicle, identifying them by their unique ID and showing the date and time. It will also show any failed attempts by unauthorised drivers to log onto the vehicle. If the optional collision monitoring is installed, the report will show any collisions that have occurred, again identifying the driver responsible and the date and time.

Safeguard your staff, limit stock-loss and maintain your health and safety record by eliminating the unauthorised use of your vehicles.

"I think it's amazing and that all tippers should have them fitted. When I reverse onto a site the TS Inclinometer instantly tells me if it is safe to tip."

HVDS Featured in Hungarian Trucking Magazine - March 2008

Many thanks to Bertalan Kiss of the Hungarian magazine 'CAMION Truck & Bus' for publishing an article on the Transport Support HVDS (High Voltage Detection System). In Hungary there is a serious issue of vehicles hitting overhead power cables as there is high density of low level power lines from trolley buses and trams etc combined with a high proportion of vehicles with onboard cranes and high sided vehicles.
